If I could give a 0 star I would.
Took my 11 year old daughter in to have a clear mole on her face looked at and possibly removed that day. There was no mention of any topical numbing just a needle to inject the numbing medicine. I asked the nurse, “is there no topical numbing available?” She had no answer.
The needle went in, It was obviously extremely painful and my daughter was begging for the nurse to stop, she kept crying, “please stop, I can’t do this, it burns so bad!”
She and I waited in the room alone for the numbing to kick in, when the Dr returned I asked again why no topical numbing was offered. Her answer.. “I’m so sorry, I didn’t even think of that.” What?! You’re a physician, isn’t that part of your job and hopefully desire to make your patients as comfortable as possible?! You didn’t even think of topical numbing BEFORE you inject a needle into my daughter’s face?!
I’ve had two moles removed at different times at two different dermatologists offices…both times I was given a topical numbing agent that took about 20-30 minutes to kick in. THEN they injected the needle. I did’t feel one ounce of pain. Either time.
Very disappointed in the lack of concern for my sweet 11 year old daughter’s comfort.
